About me and my practice

I put clients needs and choices at the heart of my practice and believe it is a privilege to help people at the most challenging times of their lives. I treat clients with respect and sensitivity and will work to build a relationship between us based on trust and honesty. A non judgmental approach is at the core of my work. Im a registered member of the British Association of counsellors and psychotherapists and I adhere to their ethical framework.

Experience

I have over 30 years experience working in the mental health field. I spent the first 20 years of my career as an NHS therapist. I have specialist experience in working with anxiety and depression and also helping people recover from abusive relationships and trauma.

Qualifications

Diploma of the college of Occupational Therapists
Graduate Diploma in counselling and psychotherapy.
Certificate in cognitive behavioural therapy.
Therapeutic approaches to depression and anxiety.
Grief counselling.
Working with eating disorders.
Trauma informed approaches.
Certificate in working with survivors of domestic abuse.
NHS training in the use of psychotropic medication
